The Heritage Audio BT-500 is quickly changing the way songwriters and artists are monitoring program material from their mobile devices in the major studios.
Without a proper professional solution so far, the BT-500 solves an old connectivity problem which has become a bigger issue since Apple said goodbye to the mini jack in their iPhone 7.
Atlantic records, an iconic major label and studio with multiple rooms recently decided to install the BT-500 in all of them.
In the words of Ron Robinson, director of Studio operations and in house producer/engineer:
“The Heritage Audio BT-500 Bluetooth streaming 500 series module has been a game changer for our studio. As an in-house recording studio at a major record label, we constantly host A list artists, songwriters and producers who are eager to play music for each other from a wide variety of personal mobile devices. We used to rely solely on a stereo line driver interface with a clumsy 3.5 mm aux cable for device playback, but with the Heritage Audio BT-500 module, anyone can connect wirelessly and play music over our studio’s monitors within seconds – from anywhere in the room!
We recently hosted a songwriting camp with several notable EDM artists and songwriters and they were blown away by how easy it was to connect and play tracks for each other from their phones and tablets. And perhaps most importantly, they were stunned by the audio quality! To be perfectly honest, we were a bit dubious about a Bluetooth streaming solution for playback in our studio, but the BT-500 really sounds incredible! The module provides lossless transmission of audio via AAC, aptX and SBC codecs, hi-fi D/A converters, and a Burr Brown balanced analog signal path. We’ve been so happy with the module that they’ve become a staple installation at multiple facilities now! “
